Additives dosed into the operating digester raise gas output, stability, and loading without a change to the plant.
Chelated trace element liquid for anaerobic digesters, dosed in service to raise methane output and stability. Twelve elements, 20 L bottles to 1000 L totes.
Digester additives, also sold as biogas additives, are dosed directly into an operating anaerobic digester to raise what the plant can do. Media are loaded into a vessel and treat the gas after it leaves the digester; an additive works on the process itself, while the plant stays in service. Interra Global supplies additives for two kinds of enhancement: trace elements that raise microbial activity, and iron powders that control sulfur inside the digester. Trace Elements for Higher Biogas Output Digester microbes work best with an optimal supply of metals such as nickel, cobalt, and selenium, and most feedstocks carry less than that. Dosing chelated trace elements, sometimes called biostimulation, supports the microbial population at its most active, and plants dose them to raise methane output, run more steadily, and take higher feedstock loading. MethaneMaxx™ is the trace element liquid Interra Global supplies; what it carries, how it is dosed, and the results plants have measured are on the MethaneMaxx product page. Iron Powders for Cleaner Biogas Iron hydroxide powders dosed into the digester bind sulfur in the digestate before it leaves as hydrogen sulfide, so the biogas arrives cleaner at the engine, boiler, or upgrading unit and the media downstream carry a lighter duty. They are supplied with the H2S removal media, alongside the pellets used in vessels downstream. Dosing a Digester in Service An additive goes in with no change-out and no change to the vessel. Liquids are typically dosed by hand or through a dosing pump, and powders through a powder-to-slurry dosing system. Results follow biological time rather than mechanical time: the response builds over retention periods, not in the moment dosing starts. Interra Global supplies digester additives alongside the H2S removal media and process equipment used at the same plants. Its technical staff take questions about dosing a particular digester, and container sizes and lead time are confirmed when a quote is requested. |
